Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has announced the passing of Akin Olowokere, the club’s assistant coach.
According to an official statement posted on the club’s X handle, the coach slumped and passed away on the pitch on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Olowokere was part of a new set of coaches announced by the club for the new season as the team went through technical and managerial reorganization.
“Coach Olowokere was not only a dedicated and passionate football tactician, but also a mentor, friend and father figure to the players and many others,” the statement read.
“He exhibited compassion within his short stint with the club and the wider football community. His commitment to the growth and success of our team was unwavering, as we hope his legacy continues to inspire generations to come.”
3SC extended condolences to the family, friends and entire football community over the loss of the tactician.
