Gov Sani, Gusau to attend NNL AGM ahead of 2025/2026 season

Senator Uba Sani, Kaduna state governor, and  Ibrahim Musa Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will headline the 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigeria National League (NNL), scheduled for Tuesday at the Chuckker Resort, Kaduna.

Governor Sani, who will serve as Chief Host and Special Guest of Honour, is expected to formally declare the AGM open.

Ibrahim Gusau will join other top football administrators and stakeholders at the crucial gathering,

The AGM will bring together delegates and representatives from the 36 clubs set to feature in the 2025/2026 NNL campaign.

Discussions will focus on the league’s format and structure, while the rules and regulations governing club participation will also be reviewed and ratified.

NNL Chairman, Chief George Aluo, emphasized the importance of direct engagement with clubs.

He described the meeting as an opportunity to evaluate the past season and chart a better path forward.

He reiterated the league’s commitment to aligning its calendar more closely with the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), ensuring synchronized season start and end dates.

The gathering is regarded as critical to the smooth organization of the upcoming season.

The AGM is crucial to laying the foundation for a more competitive and professional campaign.

Alongside the governor, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Professor Benjamin Kumai Gugong.

The Commissioner for Local Government Area Matters, Sadiq Mamman-Lagos, will also grace the event.

Other notable attendees include NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, and some Executive Committee members.

Notably, Babagana Kalli, who also chairs the NFF’s Match Commissioners and Security Committees.
