The Golden Eaglets began their WAFU-B U17 Championship with a commanding 4-1 win over Benin Republic in Yamoussuokro.
The Eaglets opened the floodgates early in the 4th minute through George Agha who scored from the spot after Boluwatife Thompson was fouled in the box.
David Edeh doubled the lead two minutes later from a well-placed freekick after the menacing Thompson was fouled again.
George Agha got his second in the 14th minute when he calmly slotted home and grabbed his hat-trick in the 31st minute when he profited from a defensive mixup from the opponents.
Jeremy Zannou, captain of the Benin side grabbed the consolation goal for his side just before half time. The Eaglets took it easy in the second half but had few chances which were not converted.
George Agha was voted the Player of the Match. Next for the team is a final group game against Burkina Faso on Saturday.
