The Nigerian U17 Women’s Football team, the Flamingos are in a fiery form ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The girls have been in Abuja preparing for the mundial with friendly games. Experienced talent manager, Olowookere Bankole and his crew have been working on the girls and their sharpness in front of goal and this is producing remarkable results.
On Thursday, the girls beat a boys team, Josiah Academy 2-0 at the same venue, with Chisom Nwachukwu scoring the goals.
On Friday, the Flamingos continued their good form as they hammered Nazareth Angels 5-0 at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja. Two goals from Queen Joseph, one from Praise Agba, Chisom Nwachukwu and Mariam Yahaya condemned Nazareth Angels to a heavy defeat.
The team have won 7 games in a row, scoring 22 goals and keeping clean sheets in all.
The 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025. It will feature 24 teams from six continents. Africa will be represented by five teams including the hosts, Morocco.
