World 100 metres silver medallist Marvin Bracy has accepted a 45-month sanction for anti-doping rule violations, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced.

Bracy, who claimed silver at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, was provisionally suspended in February 2024 after testing positive for an anabolic agent during an out-of-competition test.

According to USADA, Bracy’s sanction followed an investigation that began after a whistleblower tip.

The agency revealed that Bracy initially attempted to tamper with the investigation, but later admitted to the violations and provided substantial assistance to authorities.

The investigation was jointly conducted by USADA, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

“This case highlights the importance of cooperation between like-minded organizations and law enforcement agencies when it comes to eradicating organized doping schemes,”said USADA CEO Travis Tygart.

“This investigation has already resulted in several impactful outcomes, which will be announced at a later date as the overall inquiry continues.”

Bracy, who has not competed since 2023, becomes the second member of the 2022 U.S. men’s 100m podium to face disciplinary action.

Gold medallist Fred Kerley was provisionally suspended in August 2025 by the Athletics Integrity Unit for a whereabouts violation. Kerley denied any wrongdoing and vowed to contest the charge.

He has since signed up to participate in the inaugural Enhanced Games, a controversial new event that allows the use of performance-enhancing drugs banned in traditional competitions.
