Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been included in the squad for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton following positive discussions with head coach Arne Slot on Friday.
The decision comes amid ongoing standoff between the player and the club.
Salah having publicly claimed last weekend that he had been “thrown under the bus” and that his relationship with Slot had deteriorated.
His comments followed Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Leeds, where he appeared as a substitute for the third consecutive match.
Salah, 33, was subsequently left out of the travelling squad for Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Inter Milan, raising concerns over his future at Anfield.
However, Slot revealed during his pre-match press conference that he sees “no reasons to not want Mohamed Salah to stay” and confirmed he would hold further discussions with the Egyptian international.
Despite Salah’s return to the matchday squad, unresolved matters remain between the player, the club, and his agent, Ramy Abbas.
These talks will continue while Salah is away on international duty at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, for which he is set to depart on Monday.
Salah has indicated that Saturday’s fixture could serve as an opportunity to “say goodbye” to Anfield, noting that he invited his mother to attend the match.
Salah has scored five goals in 18 appearances across the Premier League and Champions League this season.
His last appearance came as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland on 3 December, while his last start was in the Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven on 26 November.
Depending on Egypt’s progress at the tournament in Morocco, Salah could miss up to eight Liverpool matches, with the final scheduled for 18 January.
Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on Saturday at 15:00 GMT.
