Remo Stars dominate Eric Chelle provisional list for CHAN

Eric Chelle, Super Eagles manager, has invited thirty-five home based Super Eagles to camp, ahead of the start of this year’s Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Dominating the provisional list is Nigeria premier football league champions, Remo Stars, with invitation extended to seven of their players, to begin preparation before the start of the tournament.

‎The list which was made available on Friday evening by the communications department of the Nigeria Football Federation, also has five players from Rivers United, another five from Ikorodu City, four from Abia Warriors, while three made it through from the camp of the current champions of the President Federation Cup, Kwara United.

Other teams whose players were also selected includes Enugu Rangers, which had three on the list, Enyimba and Plateau United will be represented by two players each, while the likes of Nasarawa United, Niger Tornadoes, Elkanemi Warriors, Kano Pillars, Shooting Stars and Sporting Lagos, had one player respectively.

All invited players for the CHAN camp have been instructed by Chelle to turn up at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State on Monday, July 7 with their international passports and current club license.

Nigeria, 2018 runners-up, are pitted in group D of the 19-team tournament, alongside Cup holders Senegal, Sudan and Congo.

The Super Eagles will play their first two matches of the competition, against
Senegal and Sudan, at the Amman Stadium on the island of Zanzibar, ‎before taking on Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
