Super Eagles players, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke and Lawal Salim Fago were on target on Sunday for their respective clubs sending strong signals ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In Spain, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke were both on the scoresheet as Sevilla recorded a commanding 4–0 home victory over Real Oviedo at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Adams set the tone early, opening the scoring in the fourth minute to end a nine-game goal drought after latching onto a precise assist from Lucien Agoumé.
Sevilla doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute through Djibril Sow and maintained their dominance after the interval.
The hosts made it 3–0 in the 51st minute via Boubakary Mendy, with Adams once again influential in the build-up.
Chidera Ejuke capped a memorable night for Sevilla in the 89th minute, calmly finishing to seal the rout in front of over 32,000 fans.
In Croatia, newly invited Super Eagles forward Salim Fago Lawal also grabbed headlines by scoring for NK Istra in their league clash against Rijeka.
Lawal struck in the fifth minute, reacting quickest inside the box to give his side an early lead. The goal took his tally to five league goals and seven in all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old is expected to link up with the Super Eagles squad in Egypt as preparations intensify, with an international friendly against the Pharaohs looming.
However, it was not all positive news as Usman Muhammed endured a difficult outing in Israel, receiving a red card as Ironi Tiberias fell 2–0 to Hapoel Haifa.
The 31-year-old midfielder was sent off early and will now turn his focus to reporting for national duty.
Earlier on Saturday, Victor Osimhen and Calvin Bassey also found the net for their respective clubs in Turkey and England, signalling the strong form within the Super Eagles ranks as they prepare for 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
