Bayern Munich’s iconic Allianz Arena will host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA confirmed on Friday following its latest executive committee meeting.

The Alianz Arena  emerged as the sole candidate for the prestigious European showpiece, marking another milestone for a stadium steeped in football history.

This will be the sixth time Munich hosts Europe’s biggest club game — previously staged in the city’s Olympic Stadium in 1979, 1993, and 1997, and at the Allianz Arena in 2012 and 2025.

UEFA also announced that London’s Wembley Stadium and the newly renovated Camp Nou in Barcelona are the two contenders for the 2029 final. The governing body will make its decision in September 2026.

This season’s final is slated for the Puskás Arena in Budapest, while Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium will stage the 2027 edition.

Munich’s re-selection highlights UEFA’s confidence in the Allianz Arena’s world-class facilities, atmosphere, and organization. The venue last hosted the final in 2025, when Paris Saint-Germain crushed Inter Milan 5–0 in a dazzling display of attacking football.

The Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich, remains one of Europe’s most technologically advanced football stadiums, renowned for its luminous exterior and electric matchday experience.

With the eyes of the football world set to return to Munich in 2028, anticipation is already building for another memorable night of Champions League glory.
