Joseph Atule, Enyimba’s winger says the People’s Elephants are in Kano for victory against newcomers, Barau FC.

The winger spoke to the club’s media ahead of the much anticipated clash between new entrants, Barau FC and nine-time champions Enyimba FC in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

“Coming to Kano, we are here for all the maximum points. This is going to be a different ball game, and I know the fans can’t wait to see the NPFL’s best return to glory again,” he said.

The encounter is the first ever meeting between both sides and it will see a clash of two veteran coaches in the league; Stanley Eguma and Ladan Bosso.

Atule also remarked that the team has worked hard behind the scenes and is now ready to show what they have been building.

“We’ve worked hard as a group, both new and old players, building synergy during our preseason games. Our faces already Express our heart’s desires this season and it is about glory, nothing less,” he concluded.

Atule scored eight goals last season to finish as the club’s joint top scorer and would be a key part of Eguma’s arsenal to challenge for the title this season.

The match with Barau FC will take place at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano at 4pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
