Bayelsa Queens started their quest to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League with a 2-1 victory over Police Ladies on Sunday.
The girls got off to a bright start in the 12th minute through teenage sensation, Shakirat Moshood. New player, Emem Essien doubled the lead in the 62nd minute with a beautiful finish.
Police Ladies launched series of attacks and had the Nigerians on their toes for a while before Mary Berko scored in the 67th minutes after Monle Omini spilled a harmless shot.
For her contributions, Shakirat Moshood was voted the Player of the Match.
The Prosperity Girls will now face ASKO on Wednesday 27th August 2025 and will hope for a win to boost their chances of playing in the semifinals.
