Bayelsa Queens beat ASKO of Togo 3-0 in the second game of the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
Head Coach, Hakeem Busari started with a strong lineup which was expected to get goals with Shakirat Moshood, Janet Akekoromowei and Emem Essien in attack.
The team had chances in the first half but failed to convert them and was met by strong defending from the Togolese team and their determined goalkeeper. The first half ended goalless.
Oumou Bani turned the ball in her own net in the 47th minute and eight minutes later, Alaba Olabiyi nodded home Janet’s cross after Moshood and the bulky striker had done a good job in the flanks.
Shakirat Moshood put the game beyond the reach of ASKO in the 80th minute after a spell of possession by the Prosperity Girls. Vera Samuel was voted Player of the Match for her stellar performance in midfield.
They will now play their final group game on Saturday, August 30, 2025 against Sam Nelly of Benin Republic.
