CAF announces dates for African Schools Championship qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced dates and venues for the CAF African Schools Football Championship 2025/2026 Zonal Qualifiers.

 

The body announced this on Thursday. The tournament was first staged in 2022 and combined the power of football and education in the boys and girls in the U15 category.

 

The WAFU A zone officially kicks off this season’s qualifiers in The Gambia between 20-30 November 2025, marking the start to a series of zonal qualifiers to decide the entrants for the CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals.

 

The CAF African Schools Football Championship is the brainchild of CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe.

 

Building from the success of the past three editions, the 2025/2026 season will see over 800,000 boys and girls from across Africa being afforded an opportunity to compete at the highest level of schools football.

 

The WAFU A qualifiers will take place in Banjul, Gambia from 20-30 November 2025. WAFU B will host its qualifiers in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso 26 November – 5 December, 2025 while CECAFA will host in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 30 November – 8 December 2025.

 

COSAFA will host it in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 1 – 8 December, 2025 while Libreville in Gabon will host the UNIFFAC qualifiers from 9 – 18 December, 2025.
