The race for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award reaches its climax today as Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen goes head-to-head with Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah when the Confederation of African Football hosts its annual awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco today, Wednesday November 19, 2025.

Set at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT), the ceremony will celebrate Africa’s outstanding footballers, coaches, clubs and national teams across both the men’s and women’s game.

CAF Men’s Player of the Year

Mohamed Salah (Egypt / Liverpool)

Salah enjoyed another prolific season with Liverpool, leading them to the 2024/25 Premier League title.

The Egyptian captain delivered an incredible 47 goal contributions — 29 goals and 18 assists — in just 38 starts, while also inspiring Egypt to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / Paris Saint-Germain)

Hakimi enters the ceremony as a strong favourite following an exceptional campaign.

The PSG full-back lifted the UEFA Champions League, French Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and UEFA Super Cup titles, and helped Morocco secure World Cup qualification. He was also instrumental in PSG’s run to the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Victor Osimhen (Nigeria / Galatasaray)

Osimhen remains Africa’s most feared striker after scoring 37 goals in 41 matches for Galatasaray in the 2024/25 season.

The Nigerian forward has carried his blistering form into the new campaign, positioning himself as a strong contender for the continent’s biggest individual prize.
