Eric Chelle, Super Eagles head coach, has the compliment of 21 players at his disposal on Monday night in Ikenne, to officially kickstart preparation for this year’s CHAN tournament.
The 2024 CHAN will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
All twenty-one players observed their first training session which was held under floodlights, and under the watchful eyes of the Chelle and his assistants.
Promise Efoghe, the media officer of the team, in a telephone conversation with Sport Resonance on Monday evening, he said 14 more players are expected in camp on Tuesday morning to complete the roaster of the thirty five players provisionally invited to intensify preparation for the tournament.
Haven missed the previous two editions of the CHAN tournament, the home-based Super Eagles are expected to establish a distinct performance of lifting the trophy, a feat that’ll beat their best ever performance of a silver medal benchmark in 2018.
