Chelsea’s teenage sensation Estevao Willian struck deep into stoppage time to hand the Blues a dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The champions slipped to their third consecutive defeat in all competitions.

The 18-year-old Brazilian forward pounced in the final seconds to turn home Marc Cucurella’s cross.

The goal sparked jubilant celebrations that ended with Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca being sent off for his exuberance.

The hosts deserved the win as they controlled much of the encounter against an out-of-sorts Liverpool side.

Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for Chelsea after just 14 minutes, rifling a superb 20-yard strike.

The stand-in goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who replaced the injured Alisson Becker has no answer.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot, seeking a response after back-to-back defeats to Crystal Palace and Galatasaray, lntroduced £116m signing Florian Wirtz on at halftime in search of inspiration.

The visitors levelled in the 62nd minute when Cody Gakpo reacted quickest to turn home a loose ball.

Despite some late chances, including key saves from Mamardashvili to deny Estevao and Jamie Gittens, Liverpool’s resistance finally broke at the death.

Estevao’s goal is his first for Chelsea and capped a remarkable rise for the teenager, who has already represented Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti.

Estevao was signed for £51 million from Palmeiras, where he broke a record previously held by Neymar.

Chelsea’s win was tempered by injuries to defenders Josh Acheampong and Benoit Badiashile, leaving Maresca short of options at centre-back.

Earlier at the Emirates, Arsenal reclaimed top spot in the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

Mikel Arteta making it a memorable 300th game in charge of Arsenal, winning and going top of the EPL.

Declan Rice opened the scoring against his former club, finishing smartly after Eberechi Eze’s shot was parried by Alphonse Areola.

Bukayo Saka also marked his 200th League appearance with 55th career League goal.

About the same time Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim celebrated his 50th game in charge with a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Mason Mount opened the scoring early before Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead.

Debutant goalkeeper Senne Lammens kept United’s first clean sheet of the season.

The win marked United’s third straight home victory, easing pressure on Amorim and reviving optimism at Old Trafford.
