Chioma Okafor, Super Falcons forward, has signed a three-year deal with North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
Okafor has option for an additional year if she performs well at North Carolina. This is her first professional contract after a remarkable collegiate career with the UConn Huskies.
She made 57 appearances in four seasons, scoring 30 goals and providing 5 assists. She led the Huskies in the past senior season with 8 goals and 1 assist, and was named in the First Team All-BIG EAST and the United Coaches First Team All-East Region..
“I’m excited to call North Carolina home and sign with the Courage. From the early conversations with the team, I fell in love with the developmental plan they laid out for me and the drive to build back this club’s championship roots. I can’t wait to get to work in 2026,” she said after signing the deal.
She was part of the Super Falcons team to the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco where the team lifted its 10th WAFCON title.
