Eric Chelle, Super Eagles coach says the game against South Africa on Tuesday is a big opportunity for his team to do a ‘great job’ in Bloemfontein.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Monday, the Super Eagles coach said his team are focused on the game and would not be worried about what happens outside the pitch, including the expected action from FIFA against South Africa for fielding an ineligible player.

“We are focused on our game plan. I’m focused on my players. South Africa has good players, a good coach, and strong technical staff.

“We know this is a big game. I’m really happy to play this game, my players are happy to be here, and this is a moment to do a great job.

“There’s an organisation called FIFA, they need to manage it, it not my problem. “My [focus] is on my players. We have to think about our game, and what happened around the Rwanda game,” he said.

The team will be without influential striker, Victor Osimhen after he got injured in the win against Rwanda in Uyo. Chelle will have to rely on other strikers and forwards in the team to deliver.

“Osimhen is a big star; he’s a very good player. But I have a big group too, with big players. For sure, they want to play a great game here once again,” he concluded.

Kickoff of Tuesday’s game is at 5pm at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
