Eric Chelle, Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, has unleashed the devastating attacking quartet of Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams, Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze on the Panthers of Gabon, sportresonance.com has exclusively scooped.
Nigeria will face Gabon in a FIFA World Cup 2026 Playoff semi-final today and Chelle has decided to make just two changes to the team that started last month’s 4-0 drubbing of Benin Republic in Uyo.
Chelle has restored reigning African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman into the starting lineup with Paris FC winger Daddy Moses Simon dropped to the bench.
The other change sees the suspended Semi Ajayi replaced by the returning Bright Osayi Samuel with Benjamin Fredrick moving into central defence.
The team will be captained by Wilfred Ndidi, with William Ekong named among the substitutes.
Thursday’s game, billed for the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium, Rabat will start at 5:00pm Nigerian time with the winner going into Sunday’s final of the African leg of the World Cup playoffs.
