The Nigeria Football Federation has submitted  the official 28-man squad that will represent the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, sportresonance.com reports.

The list, presents a strong mix of established stars, in-form performers and exciting young talents drawn from top leagues across Europe, Africa and Asia.

Head coach Eric Sekou Chelle has selected a mix of veterans blended with rookies as Nigeria targets a fourth continental crown.

In the goalkeeping department, fit-again Stanley Nwabali headlines the trio and he is joined by Francis Uzoho of Omonia Nicosia who returns for the first time in almost two years. Amas Obasogie completes the goalkeeping list.

The defensive line is anchored by experienced campaigners Calvin Bassey, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Chidozie Awaziem, while Igoh Ogbu, Samuel Osayi and fresh invitee Ryan Alebiosu inject youthful athleticism. Bruno Onyemaechi and Zaidu Sanusi complete the backline with strong options at left backs.

In midfield, Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka provide Premier League edge and stability, with Wilfred Ndidi adding defensive presence and leadership.

Creativity and forward thrust come from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika, while the trio of Usman Muhammed, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Tochukwu Nnadi offer depth and creativity in their first ever competition for the Eagles.

Nigeria’s attack once again stands out as one of Africa’s most feared. Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke bring pace and directness on the wings.

Leading the frontline is Victor Osimhen, supported by Paul Onuachu, Cyriel Dessers, Adams Akor and fresh invitee Salim Fago Lawal, giving the team multiple goal-scoring options.

With the squad set to be confirmed, Nigeria’s preparations intensify ahead of AFCON 2025 as the Super Eagles set their sights on a successful tournament in Morocco.

Nigeria are in group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda and start her campaign on the 23rd of December against Tanzania in Fez before taking on Tunisia on 27th and complete their group stage matches on the 30th against the Cranes of Uganda.
