Yener Ince, Galatasaray Team A Doctor has provided an update on the extent of the injury suffered by Victor Osimhen while on international duty with the Super Eagles.

In a message posted on the club’s website, the doctor revealed that a moderate sprain and bleeding was detected after scan on the player.

“In the examinations performed today at our sponsor hospital for our Football A Team player Victor Osimhen, a moderate sprain (stretching and bleeding) was detected in his ankle ligaments and the necessary treatment has been initiated in order for our football player to return to the field as soon as possible,” said Ince.

Osimhen copped the injury in the match against Rwanda on Saturday after a dangerous challenge by Rwanda’s Claude Niyomugabo which forced Nigeria to make a change early in the first half as the striker could not continue.

Galatasaray will be hoping their prized asset is fit enough for the start of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League especially their first game away to Eintracht Frankfurt next week.
