Barcelona midfielder, Gavi could be out of action for five months after having a successful knee surgery.
The youngster featured in Barcelona’s opening two matches of the season before getting injured in his right knee during a training session in August.
Barcelona revealed that the player has no ACL tear, however, his surgery was to repair a damaged cartilage.
“Gavi has had an anthroscopy meniscus injury, which was sutured to preserve the meniscus.Recovery time is estimated at around 4-5 months,” a statement from Barcelona read.
Gavi has an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in 2023 and has escaped a recurrence this time round. He made his Barcelona debut in 2021 and has scored 10 goals in 155 games, and has won five trophies.
