Gusau congratulates Nigeria, Ghana for WAFCON semis exploits

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, NFF President, and President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, has congratulated Nigeria and Ghana for reaching the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFCON 2024 in Morocco, sportresonance.com reports.

‎Ibrahim Musa Gusau praised the relentless efforts of both teams with their exemplary performances, which he said reflects their talents and commitments, charging them to strive for the highest success in the remainder of the tournament.

‎”On behalf of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B), I warmly congratulate the Nigeria and Ghana women’s national teams for their outstanding qualification to the semi-final to the women’s Africa Cup of nation in Morocco.”

“Their exemplary performance reflects the talent and commitments of women’s football in our region. We wish both Nigeria and Ghana success in the remainder of the competition,” stated Gusau.

Both teams picked up valuable wins against Zambia and Algeria respectively in the quarter finals to progress to the last four of the tournament.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face South Africa while Ghana’s Black Queens will take on the host nation Morocco, in the semi-final pairings, on Tuesday, 22 July, 2025, in Morocco.
