‘Here to win’ — Rwanda’s captain Bizimana eyes victory against Super Eagles

Djihad Bizimana, captain of the Amavubi of Rwanda says the team are in Uyo to beat the Super Eagles.

 

Bizimana spoke at the pre-match press conference at the conference room of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, on Friday. He said the team is not thinking about possible points deduction from South Africa for fielding an ineligible player.

 

“We are focused on our game tomorrow. We don’t really think about point deductions or anything like that. We are just focused for our game tomorrow. We go we play for the win tomorrow, the point deduction and everything, we will see after,” he said.

 

Bizimana further said his team are not underdogs going into the encounter but will compete against the Super Eagles whom he agreed are giants.

 

“The underdog, I don’t accept. The giant, maybe I accept. We are not underdogs. We are also a team that can compete.

 

“We showed it last time when we were here. We came here not like underdogs, we are here to play good football and try to win the game because we have not come here to lose the game.

 

“We are coming to win because if you look at the table, we really have a chance to qualify for the World Cup,” he concluded.

 

The last time played the Super Eagles in Uyo, the Amavubi ran away with a 2-1 victory. The captain said no two games are the same and that their focus is simple, to win no matter the scoreline
