How Benn settled a 35-Year feud with Eubank family

Conor Benn delivered a career-defining performance to end one of British boxing’s most enduring rivalries, defeating Chris Eubank Jr by unanimous decision in their rematch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The result not only avenged his narrow loss in April but also symbolically brought closure to a sporting feud that began 35 years ago between their fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr.

Benn dominated from the opening bell, showing superior aggression, cleaner punching and a far more measured approach than in their first encounter.

Eubank Jr, usually sharp and explosive, looked hesitant throughout and struggled to find momentum against Benn’s relentless pressure.

The 29-year-old held a commanding lead going into the final round and underlined his superiority by dropping Eubank twice in the 12th.

The judges scored the contest 119-107, 118-108 and 116-110, sealing Benn’s revenge and his 24th win in 25 professional fights.

Benn described the victory as the closing chapter of a generational conflict that began on 18 November 1990, when Eubank Sr stopped Nigel Benn in their first iconic meeting. Their 1993 rematch ended in a draw, leaving the rivalry without a definitive resolution—until now.

“This is the end of the Benn–Eubank saga,” Conor Benn said after the fight. “There was a lot of pressure to settle it tonight, not for the world but for my family. I’ve completed it.”

The event attracted star power at ringside and elaborate entrances, but inside the ropes Benn delivered the clarity the rivalry had lacked for decades. For Eubank Jr, 36, the defeat leaves him at a crossroads, while Benn now eyes a world-title push after finally lifting the family’s longstanding burden.

With this emphatic win, Conor Benn not only restored personal pride but also brought peace to a feud that has spanned generations—closing a chapter that had remained open since 1990.
