Ibrahim Abdul reelected as president of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation

Ibrahim Abdul has been re-elected as President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF).

 

He was returned elected at the 2025 NWF elective congress held at the Gymnasium Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Saturday.

 

He was the sole candidate for the position but the 12 executive board members still had to vote for formality’s sake and they all gave him votes.

 

Lawrence Iquaibom was elected as the new Vice President of the Federation. He polled a total of 8 votes to beat his rival, Nwankwo Innocent who garnered 4 votes.

 

Onubaye Sefiya defeated incumbent, Christopher Nwadei to win the Technical Rep Position in a resounding 34-4 victory.

While Osijo Taiwo, the 2022 Commonwealth bronze medalist won the athletes representative position. The election was monitored by the National Sports Commission.
