Ikhenoba blames Insurance loss in Aba on lack of concentration

Greg Ikhenoba, Bendel Insirance FC coach, says his boys lost concentration in the dramatic loss to Enyimba on Sunday.

The Benin Arsenal stunned the People’s Elephants in the second minute with an opener but saw the lead gone 16 minutes later, setting the stage for an afternoon of drama at the Enyimba stadium. Ikhenoba also felt the result would have been different if his boys converted their chances.

“We played against a very good side. We all know that Enyimba is number one in Nigeria. They play good football, they have mature players.

“I must give the coach kudos they did well. They knew what they were expecting.

“Every team has its own strategy. We believed it was going to be a free flowing game and we expected the boys to put in their best and convert chances when we get them which they did although they missed some, we keep working,” he said.

“Probably they lost concentration in some few minutes which was very important and I told them.

“When you play against a big team like Enyimba, you need to put in all your concentration from the blast of the whistle to the end of the game,” he concluded.

The Benin Arsenal scored in the second half to take the lead but failed to protect their lead with Enyimba scoring twice in five minutes to win the game 3-2 and maintain their spot on top of the table
