Justin Madugu, head coach of the Super Falcons, has assured that his team will continue to improve, after their win over Ghana on Sunday in a friendly game.
The Super Falcons beat Black Queens 3-1 in a friendly in Casablanca, a game which was played behind closed doors. Madugu is focused on what the team was able to achieve apart from the result.
“The match gave us the opportunity of having the full squad together to really assess our strength as a team, and build on team cohesion, coordination and on various combinations,” Madugu said.
He said the team will continue to make progress and will remain focused on the team’s Mission X target.
“It will always be work in progress, but we are very focused on our realisable and achievable target of Mission X. The girls are ready and are showing real hunger for victory and team spirit is high. We are looking forward to our first match on Sunday against Tunisia,” added Madugu.
Some players who were not in Lisbon to play against Portugal started the game. Chinwendu Ihezuo opened scoring for the Falcons, before Asisat Oshoala added a second from the spot and captain, Rasheedat Ajibade scored the third goal for the Falcons
The win over the Black Queens keeps the Super Falcons unbeaten in three friendly games before the WAFCON; a 2-0 victory over Cameroon, a 0-0 draw with Portugal in Lisbon and the 3-1 victory over Ghana at the Ziaida Palace Benslimane field.
