The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through its Player Status and Arbitration Committee (PSAC) have directed all clubs in the Nigeria National League (NNL) to pay off their debts to players or risk not being registered for the new season.

This was contained in a circular dated September 9, 2025 and signed by Danlami Alanana, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NNL.

“We are under instruction of the Nigeria Football Federation that all clubs indebted to players, coaches and administrators which have been adjudicated by the Players Status and Arbitration Committee must be complied with before clubs will be allowed to register for the 2025-2026 Nigeria National League season,” the circular stated.

Clubs in the league, including those just relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) are expected to show evidence of compliance to this directive before they can be allowed to register for the new season.

The PSAC, one of the most effective departments of the NFF in this dispensation have adjudicated on many disputes regarding wages and debts including players, coaches, clubs and administrators and have recovered over ₦100m for the affected individuals and clubs.
