The Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) sports unit has announced that it would conduct open trials for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams.

This was made public in a statement by head of sports at the service, Samuel Onikeku. This open trials is ahead of the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League and 2026 African Club Championships for men and women.

The trials is scheduled from 9th to 19th July at the Customs Service Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Gwagwalada, FCT. According to the Onikeku, this initiative is to consolidate the success recorded during the Women’s Club Championship held in Abuja.

“This invitation is open to all female volleyball players in Nigeria, with transportation, accommodation, and feeding provided. The selection trial for men’s volleyball will follow immediately after the women’s trials,” said Onikeku.

The NCS hopes that this will open the door for potential players to join the team as they push for podium finish in the coming tournaments.
