Nigeria’s U19 women’s basketball team has departed Abuja for the World Cup in Brno, Czech Republic.
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) also released the roster of the team which will fly Nigeria’s flag at the tournament and it has 12 players and 3 coaches.
The technical crew is led by Faustina Akhere Juliana as head coach, Nyingifa Atonye as associate coach while Usuwa Chinedu will be the assistant coach.
The players include Jessica Ajayi, Pius Idubamo Beggi, Wandoo Marvis Hembam, Gbemisola Samuel, Toby Nweke and Momoluwa Tewogbade, Nora Ezike, Francisca Chukwu, Olanrewaju Ayodeji, Abigail Isaac, Olaoluwa O. Victoria and Favour Sampson.
The 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup will be held in Brno, Czech Republic from 12th to 20th July. It will be contested by 16 teams, while Nigeria and Mali will represent Africa at the tournament.
