Nigeria vs Rwanda: 15 Super Eagles set for Tuesday evening training

Camp of Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state has come alive ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

Nine players checked into camp on Tuesday morning, raising the number of available squad members to 12.

With three more players expected before evening, 15 Super Eagles are set to begin their first collective training session.

Latest Arrivals in Uyo

Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, and defender Benjamin Fredericks are the latest arrivals.

Their entry follows Monday’s arrival of William Troost-Ekong, Amas Obasogie, Felix Agu, and Raphael Onyedika.

The players were received at their team hotel in Ikot Ekpene, where officials from the Nigeria Football Federation ensured smooth check-ins.

Focus on Evening Session

With the arrivals boosting the squad’s numbers, the coaching crew led by Eric Sekou Chelle plans to run tactical drills in the evening session.

The players will also undergo light recovery exercises before engaging in shape-and-pattern routines.

The coaches want to use the evening workout to build chemistry and test early formations.

Three More Expected

Officials confirmed that three more players are en route to Uyo and should link up with the team before training begins.

Their addition will increase the squad to 15. Nigeria has a near-full complement ahead of Wednesday’s double-session.

The presence of key figures such as Iwobi, Simon Moses and Troost-Ekong is expected to inspire confidence in the camp.

Eyes on six points

The Super Eagles are determined to re-energize their qualifying campaign with victories over Rwanda and South Africa.
