NNL Board sets October kickoff for 2025/2026 season

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has set October 2025 as the kickoff month for the 2025/2026 season.

 

This was announced after a Board meeting held on Friday July 11, at the VIP lounge of the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State. The league’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on the last week of August 2025.

 

The NNL season came to its end on Saturday with a final game between Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists which ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts who make a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in the coming season.

 

The Board thanked their sponsors and the Delta State Government for successfully hosting the NNL Super 8 and also acknowledged the commitment of referees throughout the season.

 

It also confirmed the promotion of Wikki Tourists, Kun Khalifat, Barau FC and Warri Wolves. The Board also ratified the relegation of 8 clubs: Ijele FC, Igbajo United FC, 1472 FC, Abakaliki FC, Madiba FC, Gateway FC, Zamfara FC and Adamawa United.
