Nasarawa United reclaimed the top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a spirited 2-1 win over Remo Stars in a rescheduled fixture on Thursday.

Remo Stars struck first through Michael Ibe, who fired home in the 5th minute to give the visitors an early advantage and momentarily silence the Solid Miners’ fans.

However, Nasarawa United responded with resilience. John Joshua leveled the score in the 32nd minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse, before JoFrank Isitifanus completed the turnaround with a composed finish in the 79th minute to secure a vital home win.

The result lifts Nasarawa United to the summit of the NPFL standings with 22 points from 11 matches, reaffirming their strong start to the campaign. For Remo Stars, the defeat compounds their struggles, leaving them 17th with just 10 points from nine outings and still searching for a win in four straight games.

Elsewhere, Bendel Insurance were held to a goalless draw by Rivers United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. Despite dominating possession and creating several clear chances, the hosts could not break down the visitors’ defense.

The result extends Insurance’s winless run under coach Kenedy Boboye, keeping them in the relegation zone with nine points from 11 matches. Rivers United, on the other hand, continue their steady rise, climbing to sixth place with 17 points from 10 games.
