The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has released the calendar for the upcoming 2025/2026 league season.
The league body also released full fixtures for the season, some of which might be altered due to streaming or TV schedule. The league kicks off in Friday, August 22, 2025.
According to the NPFL 2025/2026 calendar, the league will proceed on a brief mid-season break in December for the festive period from 30th December to January 6th.
The mid-season transfer window opens on January 1 and will be active till 30, 2026. Clubs are expected to strengthen their squads within this one-month period.
The season will end on Sunday, May 24, 2026 and champions are expected to get their trophy on the day.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the date for the resumption of the league is sacrosanct. The NFF president gave this assurance in Lafia in a seminar organized for media officers and chief security officers of the league.
