The National Sports Commission (NSC) has secured the participation of Team Nigeria (represented by Nigeria University Games Association – NUGA) at the FISU World University Games.

Nigeria will be represented by a team of 32 student-athletes and 10 officials and will compete in Athletics, Badminton, Judo, Table Tennis and Taekwondo.

Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the NSC said the commission believes in school sports, hence their support for NUGA to participate at the games.

“Our support for NUGA at the World University Games is a reflection of our belief in the power of school sports at all levels to shape future champions,” he said.

“These young athletes carry the dreams of a nation, and we are proud to stand behind them,” he added.

The NUGA team will receive funding from the NSC for the games. The World University Games will take place in Germany from July 16 to 21, 2025.
