Stanley Nwabali, Super Eagles goalkeeper got injured while on duty for his club, Chippa United in the South African PSL on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper was stretched off in the 35th minute after he could not continue in the game against Richards Bay in Durban and was replaced by Elson Sithole.
The club’s medical team have not released details about the extent of the injury but there are fears he might miss the Super Eagles games in September against Rwanda in Uyo and South Africa in Bloemfontein.
If he is confirmed to be out of the encounter, Eric Chelle will be left with just three goalkeepers, Amas Obasogie who plays for Singida Blackstars in Tanzania; Adeleye Adebayo of Volos FC Greece and Ebenezer Harcourt or Sporting Lagos Academy.
Obasogie has not made any appearance for the team while Adebayo has just one appearance and Harcourt just received his first call-up to the team. Maduka Okoye is still suspended for illegal betting activities.
