Africa Cup of Nations-bound stars Victor Osimhen and Calvin Bassey were both on target for their clubs on Saturday, sending a clear message of readiness ahead of AFCON 2025.

Also, Tolu Arokodare broke his Premier League duck, a few days after he was not selected for the 2025 AFCON.

Osimhen continued his rich vein of form in Turkey as Galatasaray cruised to a convincing 4–1 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The prolific striker struck Galatasaray’s third goal in the 56th minute, finishing decisively from a swift counter-attack to take his league tally to six for the season.

The win extended Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the table to five points, with Okan Buruk’s side now turning attention to Thursday’s clash against Istanbul Başakşehir.

Osimhen will shift focus to international duty as he links up with the Super Eagles ahead of AFCON 2025.

In England, Calvin Bassey was among the goals as Fulham edged Burnley 3–2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at Turf Moor.

The Nigerian defender restored Fulham’s lead in the 31st minute, rising highest to power home a header from a Harry Wilson set-piece.

Despite intense late pressure from the hosts, Marco Silva’s men held on to secure a valuable away victory and all three points.

Elsewhere, Tolu Arokodare scored his first Premier League goal, although Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered late heartbreak in a dramatic 2–1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Introduced from the bench, Arokodare climbed above the Arsenal defence to head in a 90th-minute equaliser, just days after his omission from Nigeria’s AFCON squad.

However, Wolves’ joy was short-lived as a stoppage-time own goal handed Arsenal a dramatic winner.
