West Ham midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, has been warned about his behaviour in Sunday’s match against Liverpool.

He will avoid an extended ban after the FA reviewed his case. He was sent off after receiving two yellow cards but the player kept arguing with the officials.

The 28-year-old was punished for dissent after persistently arguing about a foul awarded by referee, Darren England against his team. The FA said the player has been issued a warning.

“As guidance, we’ve issued West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta with a warning and reminder of his responsibilities for the on-field incident that followed his red card at the Premier League fixture against Liverpool on Sunday, 30 November,” said the FA.

Paqueta will serve a van for his dismissal and he will miss Thursday’s game at Manchester United but the FA won’t take any further action.

In 2024, he was charged by the FA for spot-fixing. He was alleged to have gotten himself booked deliberately for betting purposes, but he was cleared of the charges by an independent regulatory commission in July 2025.
