Ahead of the crucial game against South Africa on Tuesday, the Super Eagles had their mandatory training, on Monday.
The Eagles arrived at the Free State Stadium in Blomfontein in high spirits and trained under the floodlights as the game would be played in the evening.
Apart from Victor Osimhen who is injured and excused from the team, there is no other injury worry as all the players are fit.
The High Commissioner of Nigeria to SA, His Excellency Tope Ajayi addressed the team after training. He said South Africans are already apprehensive and we only need to be courageous and confident to win.
He said he already sees the Eagles at the World Cup, just as he told the Super Falcons that he saw them at the Olympics and it happened. He wants the players to play hard and be resilient, knowing that 250 million Nigerians are behind them.
The Super Eagles beat the Amavubi of Rwanda 1-0 in Uyo on Saturday and have 10 points. A win for them on Tuesday pegs them at 13 points before the final window for qualifiers in October and brightens their chances of usurping South Africa on the log.
