Final preparations for the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Swimming Championship are underway in Delta State.

This championship has received support from the Delta State Government and the Nigeria Aquatics Federation. Taiwo Oriss, the Secretary General of the Aquatics Federation said that the federation is working closely with the relevant authorities to make the event memorable.

“We are most excited that the CNS himself has thrown his weight around this event and has deployed the relevant department within the Navy structure to work with the federation to ensure its success,” said Taiwo.

 

He also revealed that the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the host, Delta State is making efforts to give support to the organizers.

 

“Even the National Sports Commission and host Delta State Government is rallying around the federation at the dying minute to ensure success,” Oriss added.

 

Teams are expected to arrive on Sunday, July 13, 2025 and practice sessions are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 14, 2025. Each team will be allowed one hour to train in the pool and there will be two of such trainings daily, morning and afternoon for different teams.

 

The competition then begins officially on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The competition has received registration from state teams, clubs, military and paramilitary institutions and schools.
