Team Nigeria is set to depart to Santiago, Chile, for the World Para-Powerlifting Championships which will be held from August 11 to 18, 2025.
Nigeria, known for their strength in para-powerlifting is going into the championship with a team of the country’s finest para-lifters, with the aim to mount the podium at the events.
Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports commended the athletes for their commitment throughout the camping people and urged them to go for victory at the championship.
“You are carrying the hopes and pride of millions of Nigerians. Compete with focus, discipline and the fighting spirit that has made our country powerhouse in para-powerlifting. We believe in your ability to make history again and bring glory again to the nation,” he said.
The team will hope to continue its fine run at the championship where they have set and broken world records.
