The Super Eagles kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Uyo.
The Eagles dominated the game and showed intent, hoping to get an early goal but met a compact Amavubi defense which had answers to Nigeria’s questions.

Nigeria’s attacking threat, Victor Osimhen got injured in the game to the disappointment of the coach and fans. Chelle threw Cyriel Dessrs in but could not get a goal in the first half.
Arokodare broke the deadlock in the 51st minute following a goalmouth scramble which beat the impressive Ntwari Fiacre in goal for Rwanda.
The Super Eagles came out with confidence looking for that second goal but their efforts were thwarted by the Amavubi goalkeeper.
The Super Eagles saw off the game to keep their chances bright. Up next for the team is a make or break fixture with South Africa on Tuesday in Blomfontein.
