The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have crashed out of the FIFA U20 World Cup after a 4-0 defeat to Argentina on Wednesday in the round of 16.Â
Argentina got off to a flying start in the second minute of the game with when Sarco scored the opener after a defensive mixup in the Nigerian box.
The Flying Eagles had their spell of possession in a bid to shake off the early shock but Argentina got a second goal from a direct freekick from the edge of the box when Carrizo curled the ball to Harcourt’s far left.
The team had a late chance in the added minutes of the first half but Daniel Daga was denied by the goalkeeper. Carrizo got his brace in the 53rd minute to keep his sides foot into the next round firmly rooted.
Zubair changed the entire midfield in one window, hoping for a turnaround but that would not be as Silvetti scored in the 66th minute to complete the rout.
