An inspection team led by Philippe Tchere, executive director of WAFU B, is presently in Ogun State inspecting facilities that Nigeria is putting forward to host this year’s WAFU B U17 Boys Championship.
SportResonance gathered that the WAFU B team of inspectors are going through stadia, hotel and hospital facilities that have been earmarked to stage the competition in Abeokuta and Ikenne Remo.
Emmanuel Ayanbunmi, NFF’s head of protocol, is with the WAFU B inspection team, alongside officials of the Ogun state government as well as their Football Association.
The WAFU B competition will come up in September and will feature Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets as well as the U17 teams of Burkina Faso, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger Republic, Benin Republic and Togo.
The Young Stallions of Burkina Faso are the defending champions of the competition which will serve as qualifiers for the 2025 CAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
