Fabio Wardley shocked the boxing world with a stunning 11th-round stoppage win over former world champion Joseph Parker at London’s O2 Arena to win the WBO interim title, early Saturday morning.

Wardley overcame early adversity to secure a dramatic comeback victory in the 11th round cementing his place as Oleksandr Usyk’s next mandatory challenger.

Trailing on points, the 30 year old  turned the fight on its head with a vicious right uppercut in the 10th round that left Parker reeling before referee Howard Foster stopped the contest in the 11th round.

Wardley’s record now stands at 20 wins and one draw, with 19 victories coming by knockout—a remarkable feat for a former white-collar boxer. “I said all along I’m ready for the best,” Wardley declared post-fight. “Parker’s a true warrior, but tonight proved I belong at the top.”

Parker, 33, began strongly, controlling the early rounds with sharp jabs and precise combinations, but fatigue and Wardley’s relentless pressure gradually took their toll.

The New Zealander offered little resistance in the final round as Wardley unleashed a barrage of punches that sealed the upset.

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed plans for Wardley to face Usyk in early 2026, setting up a potential blockbuster clash for the undisputed heavyweight championship.

For Parker, who once held the WBO title, the defeat marks his fourth career loss and raises questions about his future at the elite level.

From pub spectator to world-title contender, Wardley’s ascent is one of modern boxing’s most inspiring stories—a tale of raw power, persistence, and self-belief that now have him standing just one step away from the sport’s ultimate prize.
