Warri Wolves, Wikki Tourists and two others promoted to the NPFL

Kun Khalifat, Wikki Tourists, Barau FC and Warri Wolves have been promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

 

This after group stage games were concluded on Thursday in Asaba. Two teams each from the Northern and Southern conference of the league would qualify to the NPFL according to the league’s format.

 

Wikki Tourists, led by the experienced Abdu Maikaba beat Yobe Desert Stars 4-0 in the last group game on Thursday. This victory propelled them to the top of the Northern conference with five points and confirmed their return to the elite league.

 

Barau FC will make their debut in the NPFL following a 2-0 victory over Doma United in a game which was played simultaneously.

 

In the Southern conference, Warri Wolves made a comeback to the NPFL after a 2-1 victory over Crown FC and NNL debutants, Kun Khalifat beat Osun United 2-1 to earn promotion to the NPFL after just one season in the lowerKun Khalifat league.
