Super Falcons of Nigeria will fly into Morocco on Wednesday night with 22 players, ahead of their participation in the 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The tournament is scheduled for kick-off from July 5-26, 2025.

Two other players, forwards Asisat Oshoala and Folashade Ijamilusi, are already in Casablanca ahead of the team.

Oshoala, who plays for Bay FC in California, flew into the north African country from her base in the United States of America, while former junior international Ijamilusi flew in from her base in China.

The Nine-time African champion captain Rasheedat Ajibade said on Monday that the tournament will not be a cruise for any team, and that the Super Falcons are heading to Morocco to enjoy the competition and give their best to accomplish a record-extending 10th title.

“We’re focused on Mission X. For us, effort is everything. We’ll demonstrate what we’re capable of and continue to build on our existing strengths. We have an incredible group of talented players.

“We’re all excited to be here. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re committed to showing up as our best selves. We’ve been preparing thoroughly to ensure we’re ready and well-structured as a team going into this tournament.”

The Falcons are up against Tunisia (6th July), Botswana (10th July) and Algeria(14th July) in group B of the competition.
