The Team Nigeria contingent to the African School Games going on in Annaba, Algeria on Wednesday claimed two gold medals in Badminton, sportresonance.com reports.
The first gold medal of the day came from Precious Oluwagbotemi Adekunle who showed incredible skill to defeat her Egyptian opponent in the girls’ singles final.
Edun David Damilare delivered Nigeria’s second medal, in the boys’ singles. Edun fought well to end on a high and brought home the country’s second gold in the badminton event.
The Adekunle sisters, Precious and Cynthia will lead Nigeria’s charge for more medals on Thursday in the girls’ doubles final.
Edun David will also return to the court in search of another gold medal as he teams up with Cynthia Adekunle in the mixed doubles final as team Nigeria eye a clean sweep in badminton.
